EARLY CAREER NETWORK (ECN) in Athens

After the successful kick-off event of the ESMAC “Early Career Network” (ECN) at the last annual ESMAC meeting, we are excited to announce our next network event in Athens. The ECN aims to include those pursuing an academic career and are in their later stage of their PhD until securing a permanent position.

The goal of the ECN is to support, unite and inspire early career researchers and provide a platform to foster new collaborations among the next generation. Bi-monthly, throughout the last year, we have organized webinars on topics that were voted to be relevant for early career researchers. In addition, we aim to involve those who are interested in the ESMAC society and conferences, for instance by being mentored while chairing a session or reviewing abstracts.

This year, during the ECN event, we will offer the possibility to choose for 1 out of 4 workshops, sharing experiences on the topic with an experienced scientist and discussing tips and tricks for your early career. This interactive session will be followed by a social gathering and fun games to get to know your fellow ECN’ers. Moreover, this event is the ideal opportunity to look back and forward to how you can benefit from the work and activities of the ECN.

You can sign up when you register for the conference https://www.esmac2023.org/registration/ or email us. If you have questions, suggestions or are interested to participate in the organizing committee, please email ecn@esmac.org.

To register for the ECN event in the online registration form:

  • find the Early Career Network (ECN) within the Social program extras (EUR 0) – if you are registering for the main conference
  • choose ECN registration as a main fee (EUR 0) – if you do not register for any of the main functions

The Early Career Network (ECN) kick-off event will be held on Wednesday, 20 September in 19:30 – 21:00, in the Templars Hall at the Royal Olympic Hotel (ESMAC venue).
