I having been working in clinical gait analysis for 19 years and am a physiotherapist and manager of the gait analysis laboratory at the Central Remedial Clinic (CRC), Dublin, Ireland. I first attended ESMAC in Rome in 2001 and have been involved in clinical gait analysis since then. The CRC lab is primarily a clinical lab serving the Republic of Ireland, but has always aimed to contribute clinical research and I first presented at ESMAC in 2002 and have presented research at the conference on 8 occasions (9 including this year!). For the last 5 years I have combined the role of manager of the clinical gait laboratory at the CRC with the role of research fellow at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland where I was undertaking PhD research into the progression of crouch gait in cerebral palsy and am the current treasurer of CMAS UK and Ireland. I am now returning full time to my role in the CRC and see this as a good opportunity to contribute to the wider gait analysis community in Europe.
